I’m giving up on this for now.

I have this SCA Server hard drive, a 3.5″ drive going through an adapter to 50-pin SCSI.

When I got the hard drive it worked fine and booted the system, however I couldn’t get my ethernet configured on the preinstalled System 7, so I formatted it and copied over my working Zip disk. (Usually that’s all it takes). Now the thing doesn’t boot. Hell, it doesn’t even mount on the desktop when I boot from zip or floppy.

There are 2, 2GB partitions. One is formatted and copied system 7 over. The other is just empty.

I formatted with FWB Hard Disk Tools 1.6, and it mounts the two partitions on the desktop.

I know I should be using the patched HD SC Setup 7.3.5, but it locks up when it detects the drive.

Something’s just not right here and I can’t figure it out.

I don’t mind booting off of zip, but this hard disk is SILENT, and I would rather stick to the zip to transfer files.

Got any suggestions?

When I first saw an iMac in high school, I thought it was amazing. They had an original bondi blue and a lime. Whenever I had a chance in the library to use one, I did. I had to, they were just so.. different.

Then after I flunk keyboarding class in ’01 (on typewriters) , the next year they fill the room with indigo imacs. I probably would have passed it then.

The library also had these all-in-one G3 computers that were either the predecessor to the imac, or the utility version. They were just about as fast as the first imacs, and also had floppy and zip drives.

They are sort of ugly. but I like em! I would like to have one or two to play around with.

If I ever wind up with some iMacs that I don’t really care too much for, or some other Power Mac All-in-ones, they will turn into edu-tainment machines for my nieces or future kid (waaaaay in the future) to play with and learn like I did on them when I was little.
